Get schooled on anaphylaxis by showing your support with the Raise Their Hand for Anaphylaxis Awareness competition. This competition is dedicated to showing love and support to those who have suffered this allergic reaction by educating communities nationwide through this project. ABC’S “Modern Family” star Julie Bowen has teamed up with Mylan Specialty, L.P. to educate the public on the severity of this sickness. The Art Institutes Helping Future Students Succeed

The Art Institutes and Americans for the Arts has combined forces to help future college students attend to one of the Art Institutes schools. The Art Institutes 2013 Poster Design Competition is reserved for high school seniors and graduates competing for scholarships. Those who are 16 years or older and is from the U.S., Canada, or Puerto Rico have the opportunity to enter this contest and can win up to $10,000. There are two separate categories for each type of competitor to enter: high school seniors and high school graduates.

High school seniors can win up to $3,000 in scholarships while high school graduates can win up to $1,000. The national first place winner (in the graduates category) can win a $10,000 scholarship to any one of The Art Institutes schools. The work will be reviewed for originality, required elements, visuals, and a written piece explaining the poster as well as the reasoning behind wanting to attend The Art Institutes. Finalists have been determined for the Wendys High School Heisman Award Program. This program focuses on young adults who strive for excellence in educational and athletic fields. This began in 1994 when Wendy’s wanted to promote the idea of making the dreams of the youth come true. The late founder Dave Thomas believed in more than just Wendy’s products, but the success that can come from hard work inside and outside schools. That is why Wendy’s and The Heisman Memorial Trophy work together for those pursuing higher learning.

Students involved in academic achievements as well as extracurricular activities between high school grades 9 through 11 have qualified to enter. Twelve finalists have already been announced. The national finalists are: Avalon Frantz, Tyler Hoffman, Samuel Prakel, Zoe Alaniz, Kaitlyn Kent, Casey Pearsall, Trent Hosick, Daniel Johnson, Tyler Meidell, Jack Twomey-Kozak, Tessa Brooks, and Margaret Midkiff. ACT (American College Testing) Inc. has collaborated and scored applicants as to who are the State Winners. A panel of judges will take over to select the award winner.
